ordinary objects

a new collection of limited edition prints and original drawings by Maureen Nollette. The collection was created as an art/design hybrid, somewhere on the edge between the affordability of wall decor and the visual richness of fine art.

Ms. Nollette's prints and drawings are of ordinary objects placed in asymmetrical compositions with fine line work and soft volumns, all which transcend the objects being drawn. Her expertise as an object maker—her appreciation for placement, perspective and proportion—now crosses over into the realm of art making, where she also considers the image as symbol, and its emotional resonance. Her creative process places them on the page as a designer would, while as an artist, she conjures meaning beyond the literal, through emotive color and shadow.
