NOLLETTE STUDIO
1997–2005 Brooklyn, NY Principal A furniture design and manufacturing studio that produced short run and custom furniture. Responsibilities included: design, manufacturing, sales and promotion, hiring vendors and employees, installing furniture, participation in trade shows, speaking with the media and handling all finances for a $100,000 a year business. Notable clients: The Birch Pond Group (j.jill Retail Stores), Yves St. Laurent, MGM Mirage Hotel.

Teaching Experience

KENDALL COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN
2010 Grand Rapids, MI Professional Development Leader Led a workshop mentoring Wolverine World Wide employees in creative thinking through drawing.
2008–present Grand Rapids, MI Continuing Education Instructor Conceived of and developed the curriculum that leads students through seven weeks of 3 hour classes on drawing for non-artists, with the focus on creative thinking prompted by the drawing process.
GRAND RAPIDS ART MUSEUM
2008–present Grand Rapids, MI Lead Summer Camp Instructor Work with the Education Department to design and implement curriculum that compliments the museum’s exhibition schedule, act as lead instructor for the three, week-long summer camps and introduce the students to the museum with guided tours.
STUDIO IN A SCHOOL
1999 New York, NY Professional Development Leader Led a workshop mentoring teachers in creating ways to integrate classroom lessons with studio projects.
1997–1999 New York, NY Special Programs Artist Taught several 14-week residencies that introduced students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to art media—painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, or 2-D applied design—and engaged them in the creative process. The residencies were co-planned with school administrators and teachers and were customized to meet each school’s needs.
DOING ART TOGETHER
1996–1999 New York, NY Instructor Taught several 8 month long residencies that introduced students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade to art media—painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and collage—and engaged them in the creative process.
