Annual Exhibitions Assistant in the Sculpture and Exhibitions Department, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, MI; Assist in the development, planning and implementation of FMGSP’s Annual Exhibitions
  • Hired and currently managing videographers to record, edit, and produce five short films representing regional traditions.
  • Conceived of, researched, and designed an interactive media display using touchscreen technology for an annual exhibition.
  • Attended the International Light Fair in NYC; researched lighting design for future exhibitions.
  • Lead a team in the interviewing process to hire a lighting designer for a seasonal exhibition.
  • Member of the ‘Big Idea’ committee responsible for planning themes for all annual exhibitions three years in advance.
  • Designed, organized, and managed fabrication of exhibit related visual components.
  • Managed 20+ volunteers while engaging in multiple tasks during large-scale installations and de-installations.
  • Monitored exhibitions to ensure a high quality visual experience is maintained for the duration of the exhibition.

  • Operated the $100,000 a year business which included design, production, and sales.
  • Managed budget, hired freelancers, ordered supplies, maintained shop equipment.
  • Provided exceptional rapports with clients, employees, vendors, and media contacts.
  • Prepared for and participated in the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, a juried annual trade show in NYC.
  • Designed and manufactured product lines (welding, mold making, casting, finishing of cast concrete and metal).
  • Notable clients included: The Birch Pond Group (j.jill Retail Stores), Yves St. Laurent, MGM Mirage Hotel.
